Ingredients
  

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¾ teaspoon ground ginger
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
  • pinch ground cloves
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • cup white sugar
  • ¾ cup milk
  • ½ cup molasses
  • ¼ cup butter, melted

Instructions
 

  • Preheat waffle iron.
  • In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, cloves, and salt.
  • In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and sugar together until thick and foamy. Stir in the milk and molasses.
  • Add liquid mixture to the dry ingredients. Stir until well-combined.
  • Slowly fold in the melted butter.
  • Spray the hot waffle iron with nonstick cooking spray.
  • Follow the manufacturer's directions for the waffle maker to measure batter, and cook the waffles until finished.
  • Top waffles with powdered sugar, whipped cream, and fresh fruit or your favorite syrup.
