What You’ll Need for Melted Snowman Bark

- 2 cups white chocolate chips (or almond bark for a smoother texture)
- 8 mini Reese’s Peanut Butter cups, cut in half (or substitute with mini peanut butter cups if unavailable)
- 32 candy eyeballs (available in baking aisles or online)
- 16 long orange sprinkles (for the snowman noses)
- 32 round candies (Sixlets or mini M&M’s work great for buttons)
- 16 pretzel sticks, cracked in half (for the snowman arms)
How to Make Melted Snowman Bark
- Melt the white chocolate according to the package instructions. Use a microwave or double boiler for even melting.
- Prepare a cookie sheet by lining it with wax paper. Spread the melted white chocolate evenly across the sheet, about ¼ inch thick.
- While the chocolate is still wet, press in the peanut butter cup halves (for the snowman heads), candy eyeballs, orange sprinkles (for noses), round candies (for buttons), and pretzel stick halves (for arms). Arrange them to look like melted snowmen.
- Let the bark dry completely at room temperature or in the fridge for about 30 minutes, or until firm to the touch.
- Break into pieces once dry. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container for up to a week.
Creative Serving Suggestions
Serve your Melted Snowman Bark as a festive centerpiece at holiday parties or as a fun treat for kids’ winter-themed gatherings. Pair it with hot cocoa or peppermint tea for a cozy dessert experience. For an extra touch, arrange the bark pieces on a snowy-white platter or sprinkle edible glitter for a magical winter vibe.
Storage Tips for Freshness
Store your bark in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week. If you’re in a warmer climate, consider refrigerating it to prevent the chocolate from melting. Layer the pieces between sheets of wax paper to keep them from sticking together. Avoid freezing, as it can cause the chocolate to lose its smooth texture.
Fun Recipe Variations
Switch up the toppings to suit your taste! Use mini marshmallows for a fluffier snowman look or swap the peanut butter cups for caramel-filled chocolates. For a nut-free version, replace the Reese’s with mini Oreos or vanilla wafers. You can also experiment with dark or milk chocolate for a richer flavor contrast.
Time-Saving Tips for Busy Bakers
To speed up the process, use pre-melted white chocolate or almond bark. Pre-measure your toppings and have them ready to go before melting the chocolate. If you’re short on time, skip the pretzel arms and use mini chocolate chips for buttons instead. This recipe is perfect for last-minute holiday treats!
Equipment You’ll Need
Gather a microwave-safe bowl for melting the chocolate, a cookie sheet lined with wax paper, and a spatula for spreading. A small offset spatula can help create a smooth surface for your toppings. If you’re using a double boiler, have a heatproof bowl and saucepan ready. Don’t forget a sharp knife for cutting the peanut butter cups!
