What You’ll Need for Bagel Breakfast Sandwiches

Bagel Breakfast Sandwiches (Freezer Meal) Ingredients
  • 6 bagels (any flavor—plain works great!)
  • 6 slices cheese (cheddar is recommended, but feel free to use your favorite)
  • 12 slices deli ham (or substitute with turkey, bacon, or a vegetarian option)
  • 6 large eggs
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • Cooking spray (for greasing the bowl)

How to Make Bagel Breakfast Sandwiches

  1. Prepare the eggs: In a small bowl, beat one egg and season with a pinch of salt and pepper. Lightly spray a microwave-safe bowl (about the size of a bagel) with cooking spray. Pour the egg into the bowl and microwave for 60 seconds, or until fully cooked. Repeat for the remaining 5 eggs.
  2. Assemble the sandwiches: Slice the bagels in half. On the bottom half of each bagel, layer 1 cooked egg, 1 slice of cheese, and 2 slices of ham. Top with the other half of the bagel.
  3. Serve or store: Enjoy immediately while warm, or wrap each sandwich in foil or plastic wrap for a quick freezer meal. To reheat, microwave for 1-2 minutes or bake at 350°F (175°C) until warmed through.

Customize Your Bagel Sandwich with Sauces and Toppings

Take your bagel breakfast sandwich to the next level with fun sauces and toppings! Spread a thin layer of cream cheese or avocado on the bagel for extra creaminess. Add a drizzle of sriracha or hot sauce for a spicy kick, or try pesto for a fresh, herby twist. For toppings, consider adding sliced tomatoes, spinach, or caramelized onions to boost flavor and texture.

How to Store and Reheat for Busy Mornings

These bagel sandwiches are perfect for meal prep! Once assembled, wrap each sandwich tightly in plastic wrap or aluminum foil and store in the freezer for up to 2 months. To reheat, remove the wrapping, wrap in a paper towel, and microwave for 1-2 minutes or until warmed through. For a crispier bagel, toast it in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for 5-7 minutes.

Quick Recipe Variations to Mix It Up

Switch up the flavors to keep things exciting! Try using everything bagels for extra seasoning, or swap the ham for turkey bacon or sausage patties. For a vegetarian option, replace the ham with sautéed mushrooms or roasted red peppers. Experiment with different cheeses like pepper jack or Swiss for a new twist.

Time-Saving Tips for Effortless Prep

Save time by cooking all 6 eggs at once! Use a muffin tin sprayed with cooking spray to bake the eggs in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for 10-12 minutes. This method ensures evenly cooked eggs and eliminates the need for multiple microwaving rounds. You can also prep all the bagel halves and toppings in advance for quick assembly.
